Okonjo-Iweala Attends Davos Forum, Post Pictures.

The famous economist and former Finance Minister of Nigeria Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala is currently attending the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland.
Speaking at the economic forum which is attended by the world’s foremost economic and political figures, Okonjo-Iweala spoke about the importance of ensuring that global economic growth does not result in increased income inequality, Naij reports.
Okonjo-Iweala published this picture on her Facebook page
“The economic, social and political costs of rising inequality are very high and globally destabilizing,” she said.
“Creating a global economy where all peoples and all nations feel included will have tremendous positive externalities for global growth.”
The former minister also attended a sub-forum on how countries across the world can prepare for future outbreaks of the Ebola virus after the West Africa epidemic which has lasted two years and killed over 10,000 people.
Okonjo-Iweala also posted a picture on Facebook quoting Managing Director of the IMF Christine Lagarde, who warned about the transitions faced by the world’s economy in 2016, including rising interest rates in the US, falling commodity prices and China’s economic slowdown.
“I would like governments to understand that they need to upgrade their policies to support demand, maintain financial stability and advance structural reforms,” Lagarde said.
Okonjo-Iweala wanted her Facebook subscribers to read Lagarde’s comments
“Advanced economies and emerging markers are more tightly linked than ever before – monetary policy decisions will have larger spillovers.”
Okonjo-Iweala is currently employed as a senior advisor by the international advisory and asset management firm Lazard.
According to a high-level source, the former finance minister was wanted for questioning by the Economic and Financial Crime Commission in relation to the ongoing  Dasukigat arms purchasing scandal.
