NASS Tired of Passing Budgets FG Won't Implement

senate President Bukola Saraki, on Wednesday night in Abuja, said lawmakers were tired of passing annual budgets which are not fully implemented. Saraki, while presenting a keynote address at the 2016 Awards/Dinner for Senators and Journalists covering the Senate, organised by the Senate Press Corps, called for close collaboration between the parliament and journalists. “I think we are all tired of having budget documents that, at the end of the day, when it comes to implementation, they don’t mean anything. But, when we all come together and put all our best efforts, we have something that we will be proud of. “And, it is also in this spirit that I am confident that this time around, we will also be able to pass the 2017 budget at the earliest time possible than we have seen in the last few years,” he said. Obasanjo is Nigeria's Grandmaster of Corruption -House of Reps

Nigeria House of Representative in Session For describing the National Assembly as being peopled by a gang of unarmed robbers, the House of Representatives has lashed out at ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo, calling him the grandfather of corruption. The Reps described Obasanjo as the most corrupt Nigerian that ever held a public office, adding that he, however, saw himself as the only clean human being. Specifically, the House called Obasanjo the “grandfather of corruption” in Nigeria. It added that a reason Obasanjo would never like the members of the National Assembly was the fact that they foiled his third term ambition in 2007 after taking his money and displaying it publicly to put him to shame. A Lagos State Magistrate’s Court sitting in Ikeja, yesterday, remanded in Kirikiri PrisonS, Seun Egbegbe, former boyfriend to actress and social media celebrity, Toyin Aimakhu, for alleged theft of 10 pieces of iPhones. ADVERTISING inRead invented by Teads Seun was arraigned before Magistrate Y. O. Aje-Afunwa, on one count charge of theft slammed against him by the police. Seun, who pleaded not guilty when the charge was read to him, was alleged to have committed the offence at the Computer Village, Ikeja, where he requested for the phones.  The police prosecution told the court that the incident occurred while the sales girl was trying to calculate the items Seun requested for, but that he allegedly ran out of the shop with the phones and tried to board a waiting vehicle. The sales girl allegedly raised the alarm, which attracted other traders in the market. Supreme Court Throws Out Motions Against Eyitayo Jegede By PDP Factions

The Supreme Court has struck out motions challenging the affirmation of Eyitayo Jegede as the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the governorship election billed to hold in Ondo State tomorrow. The Abuja Division of the Court of Appeal on Wednesday affirmed Jegede as the PDP candidate against the October 14 ruling of a Federal High Court in Abuja which ordered the removal of his name from the list of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). In a unanimous judgment delivered by the Acting Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Justice Nkanu Walter Onnoghen yesterday, the apex court struck out the 14 motions on the grounds that they had been overtaken by events. Justice Onnoghen, in agreement with the counsel to Jegede, Chief Wole Olanipekun (SAN) said that the interlocutory motions had become academic because the appellate court had already delivered a final judgment in the matter from which the motions emanated.
