Ayodele Fayose- Governor, Ekiti State Faulting media reports insinuating his planned exit from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti State yesterday cleared the air, saying he has not decided to dump the party for the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2018 governorship election in the state. President of the federal republic of Nigeria President Muhammadu Buhari has reiterated the essence of the unity of Nigeria, urging those contemplating its break-up to have a rethink. The President said this at a meeting with the Council of South-East Traditional Rulers at the State House, Abuja, on Thursday. Professor Wole Soyinka Nobel laureate, Professor Wole Soyinka has reportedly carried out his threat to throw away his United States residency green card and leave the country if Donald Trump defeats Hilary Clinton. “I have already done it, I have disengaged (from the United States). I have done what I said I would do,” Soyinka was quoted as saying at a conference in South Africa. “I had a horror of what is to come with Trump… I threw away the (green) card, and I have relocated, and I’m back to where I have always been,” added according to an agency report. He however said he would not discourage others from applying for a green card.

    The Red Chamber has deliberated upon and passed a Motion titled “Planned Increase of Data Tariff effective from December 1, 2016 by the National Communications Commission (NCC)”. The Motion moved by Sen. Bala Ibn Na’ Allah sought and secured the leave of the Senate to debate it; coming under point of order 42. IDP Camp in the North Eastern part of Nigeria No fewer than 5, 000 Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in 27 camps in embattled Borno state in northeast Nigeria are currently living with HIV/AIDS. Mr Hassan Mustapha, the Coordinator on HIV/AIDS in Borno, said on Thursday that most of the patients were women who were rescued from captivity in Boko Haram camps. The coordinator, however, said that some of those affected were not effectively accessing anti retroviral therapy because of stigmatisation. He lamented that many of them had died of the scourge because they were not properly counselled and sensitised on the need to enrol under the HIV/AIDS control programme. “We have more than 1, 000 patients in Bama camp and 3, 000 in Gwoza camp while over 1, 000 others are taking refuge in the host communities. “We have heard of many supporting NGOs in Borno but none of them has approached us to offer assistance to the IDPs living with the virus. “The IDPs livi...
