'Gang up' against Buhari won't work - APC

Image
Nigeria’s ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) party on Tuesday dismissed several challenges to President Muhammadu Buhari after a new opposition alliance formed to try to prevent him from being re-elected to a second term next year. More than 30 parties, including the main opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), on Monday announced they were teaming up against Buhari for next February’s vote. That followed the creation last week of a splinter group within the APC of disaffected members who criticised Buhari’s three years in power as “a monumental disaster”. But APC spokesman Bolaji Abdullahi said both developments would have no effect. “We are confident that no level of gang-up can make our government under President Buhari waiver in its promises to Nigerians to rid our country of corruption and improve the quality of lives for our people,” he said in a statement. Buhari in 2015 became the first opposition candidate to defeat a sitting presid...

Image
groundnuts Eating nuts “significantly” boosted the number and health of sperm in young men in a scientific trial, researchers said Wednesday. The findings “support a beneficial role for chronic nut consumption in sperm quality,” they said, but stressed the study participants were all healthy, apparently fertile men. The potential benefits of nuts for men struggling with fertility have yet to be probed. For the study, researchers recruited 119 men aged 18-35, who they divided into two groups. One group ate 60 grammes of almonds, hazelnuts, and walnuts daily on top of their usual “western-style” diet, while the second group got no nuts. After 14 weeks, the nut group “had significant improvements in their sperm count, vitality, motility (movement) and morphology (shape)” — all associated with male fertility, said a statement. “Moreover, the subjects in the nut group also showed a significant reduction in their levels of sperm DNA fragmentation, a parameter c...

Image
French Leader Emmanuel Macron yesterday met with President Muhammadu Buhari in Abuja, challenging him to work towards providing an enabling economic and political environment to help youths to achieve their dreams. He noted that it was important for leaders in Africa to understand why young people were disposed to joining terrorist groups. “What we have to better understand is why many people are convinced to join these jihadists and these terrorists. That is why it is very important to build not just the security approach but also the stabilisation approach at the same time, to provide new opportunities.“Your governments will take care of you, I mean provide security and secondly, your governments can provide opportunities to you. And the best support is not to join crazy people and buy a bunch of guns and do crazy things,” Macron said. When love hurts!!!

Image
Love can be tricky, it varies in intensity and in specificity of emotions, it's sometimes the most amazing thing in the world and at other times its the most horrid thing we'll ever come face to face with. Its the closest thing to perfection that exists in the world, the only thing that encompasses both good and evil, beautiful and ugly. Contrary to popular belief or wishful thinking, love doesn't always result in the joining of two people, sometimes or rare occasions it results in the wedging apart of the two people. You can love someone with all ur soul and never get a chance to be with that person, the fact is love is not enough to sustain a relationship  because its not rational. Unfortunately we live in a world governed by rationality, and we manage to make it work for sometimes, then the real world catches up with us and our irrational illusions disappear into thin air, then we are left with reality, and reality doesn't reason the way lovers do. Breaking News!!! FG releases names of looters

Image
The list of some Nigerian looters has been released by the minister of information and culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed. He continued by saying that PDP is an hypocritical party and they are the reason Nigerians are in this sorry state. He consequently urged Nigerians to be cautious them. Reacting to the statement, the PDP dismissed the list as laughable, as it's National publicity Secretary Mr. Kola ologbondiyan challenged the government to come up with names of its members convicted for looting. Dapchi Abduction: insurgents becomes community friends. Recent reports have it that insurgents returned the kidnapped DAPCHI school girls unarmed as they exchanged pleasantries with the community leaders and villagers who cheered them, the question is, when did insurgents become friends with their supposed victims? The minister of information, Alh. Lai Mohammed also said the insurgents acted on moral grounds, but one would not but ask when terrorists began to act morally, the mystifying part of the story is that the girls were returned with bags full of clothing items of which they where abducted with nothing, this leaves me thinking if the popular insurgent group, boko-haram has a special super store where they take their kidnapped victims on a shopping spree?  Or could it be that the APC led Federal Government staged this whole drama to appeal to people’s sympathy in order to stay in power beyond 2019?
